Applications, scripts, and programs that operate on a device all are referred as software. Software can be compared to the variable part of the computer   (Rosencrance, 2021) . There are two types of software: system software and application software. System software directly controls computer hardware and offers basic functionality to users as well as other applications whereas application software is software that performs particular functions or provide functions that go beyond basic operation of a computer   (GeeksforGeeks, 2021) . Software development is the process through which programmers create computer programs is known as software development.   When it comes to my software and hardware abilities, I have to admit that my Computer Science knowledge is somewhat limited. I don't have a lot of knowledge and skills regarding it but I am incredibly interested in learning it. However, I am more passionate about learning software than hardware. My present software abilities include of basic operations on office products such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint which helped me a lot with my high school assignments. I am really very excited to go deep into Computer Science knowledge; I know it will be a difficult journey but I believe in working hard and achieving something worthy. Also, I intend to get as much knowledge and experience as possible throughout my time at DMU.

  I had attended many educational fairs and seminars in Nepal where I came to know about different Universities then I started exploring different universities myself. I found De Montfort University(DMU). The program offered by this university is the degree I had been looking for as it perfectly matches with my interest and future aspirations. DMU is located in the beautiful city Leicester. I also looked into its ranking which shows that it is ranked 601 in world ranking by Times Higher Education which is very impressive. I chose to study Computer Science BSc(Hons) and I strongly believe I will have enough knowledge, skills, and technical advancement needed to start my career after my graduation. After completion of my course I will have different opportunities as I would be able to work as an associate software engineer, database manager, software developer and many more.   My name is Fizu Rijal. I belong from the beautiful country Nepal which is blessed by the gorgeous mountains of Himalayas and the extensive vegetation and foliage of Terai and Hilly regions. Talking about myself I completed my Higher Secondary School from National School Of Sciences in Nepal. I have always been interested in learning computer science since my school days, where we were taught BASIC since then I love programming. The dream of pursuing degree in computer science is driven by my deep interest and curiosity about software development and various computer applications.
